Artist's Description
This semi-abstract oil-on-canvas painting depicts a view up the Chicago River. It is apparent that some artistic license or latitude has been taken with some of the buildings and structures along the river.
About Ken Wood
I currently live near Denver, NC on Lake Norman, but I grew up in Jacksonville, Fla. I had always planned to live in Florida, but I fell in love with North Carolina during my surgical training at Duke in the early 1970's. I served in the U. S. Navy as a medical officer after specialty training in 1976 and then practiced in Charlotte, NC and the Lake Norman area until recently. I've been painting, oil on canvas, for about 50 years, mostly during a busy spine surgery career. My paintings cover a very broad range of subjects; sailboats, landscapes, seascapes, light houses, urban 'scapes', still life, some whimsical (for grandchildren's rooms), dogs, and much more. My best critic has been my wife who has selected several of my paintings...
